LtGen (ret.) Zdravko Ponoš is Distinguished Senior Fellow of the Center for International Relations and Sustainable Development (CIRSD), Supervising Editor of Horizons, and member of the Columbia University Earth Institute–UN SDSN Advisory Group on International Relations.
He served as Chef de Cabinet to the President of the sixty-seventh session of the UN General Assembly and Serbia’s Assistant Foreign Minister for Bilateral Affairs.
He was previously Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, leading its transformational reform program. Prior to that, he was Deputy Chief of General Staff and Chief of the International Military Cooperation Department in the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Serbia. Mr. Ponoš also held the position of Chairman of the Multinational Advisory Group of the Regional Arms Control Verification and Implementation Assistance Centre (RACVIAC).
Mr. Ponoš holds a master’s degree from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at Belgrade University. His education also includes postgraduate studies at the Royal College of Defense Studies in London, and a specialized program of study at the Geneva Center for Security Policy.
