Antić Participates in Third European Conference on Azerbaijani Studies in Malta
On December 6th, 2024, CIRSD Senior Research Fellow and Horizons Managing Editor Stefan Antić, participated in the Third European Conference on Azerbaijani Studies, held in Valletta, Malta.
Organized by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Center for Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center), the European Network for Azerbaijani Studies, and the Azerbaijan International Development Agency (AIDA), this invitation-only conference brought together around 20 prominent experts. The event explored critical topics such as energy security, infrastructure connectivity, regional security in the South Caucasus and Europe, and the potential for enhanced collaboration between various European states and Azerbaijan.
Participants emphasized Azerbaijan’s strategic role as an infrastructure and security linchpin in the South Caucasus and a vital geopolitical bridge between Europe and Asia. Discussions focused on opportunities to strengthen energy partnerships, enhance connectivity, and address pressing regional security challenges.

New York, NY — The Global Preventive Diplomacy Initiative (GPDI) was launched at an exclusive event organized by the Center for International Relations and Sustainable Development (CIRSD) on the top floor of New York’s iconic MetLife Building, bringing together diplomats, philanthropists, business leaders, academics, and thought leaders for a conversation on the future of conflict prevention and international cooperation. The launch came just days before the opening of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, which annually brings together heads of state and government for the High-Level General Debate — making New York the world’s diplomatic capital.
