Key Elements of a Successful Addis Ababa Accord on Financing for Sustainable Development
This Working Paper from the SDSN Leadership Council outlines key elements for a successful outcome document of the 2015 Financing for Development (FfD) Conference in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It builds on the 2002 Monterrey Consensus, the 2008 Doha Declaration on FfD, and the preparations for the post-2015 development agenda, including the outcome document of the Open Working Group on the Sustainable Development Goals and the 2014 Synthesis Report of the UN Secretary-General. Further, this document draws on recent reports on FfD including the Elements Paper submitted by the co-chairs of the FfD negotiations and reports by the Intergovernmental Committee of Experts on Sustainable Development Financing, the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), the World Bank, the UN Secretary-General’s High-level Advisory Group on Climate Change Financing, and many others.
