CIRSD Signs a Memorandum of Understanding with a Leading Chinese Institute
The President of the Center for International Relations and Sustainable Development (CIRSD) Mr. Vuk Jeremić and President of the Development Research Center of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China (DRC) Mr. Li Wei, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the two institutions.
The Memorandum of Understanding promotes all-around cooperation, through the development of joint research projects, strategic studies, and jointly organizing workshops and conferences.
One of the key areas of cooperation between CIRSD and DRC will be joint engagement in the Silk Road Think-tanks Network Initiative.
Development Research Center operates under the authority of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China. The DRC’s President, Mr. Li Wei, holds a ministerial rank in the Chinese government and is a Member of the CIRSD Board of Advisors. As a leading consulting institution, the DRC is responsible for conducting research pertaining to long-term strategic issues regarding China's economic and social development.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed on the sidelines of the international conference entitled “The New Silk Roads: Inspirations and Opportunities.” The conference took place in Istanbul on December 12th and was organized by CIRSD and DRC, in partnership with the Center for Strategic Research (SAM) of the Turkish Foreign Ministry and the Foundation for Political, Economic and Social Research (SETA).

Global Preventive Diplomacy Initiative Launched in New York Ahead of UNGA 80
New York, NY — The Global Preventive Diplomacy Initiative (GPDI) was launched at an exclusive event organized by the Center for International Relations and Sustainable Development (CIRSD) on the top floor of New York’s iconic MetLife Building, bringing together diplomats, philanthropists, business leaders, academics, and thought leaders for a conversation on the future of conflict prevention and international cooperation. The launch came just days before the opening of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, which annually brings together heads of state and government for the High-Level General Debate — making New York the world’s diplomatic capital.
