CIRSD and PCNS co-organize an event about the MENA region
The Center for International Relations and Sustainable Development (CIRSD) and the Policy Center for the New South (PCNS) are pleased to announce their collaboration by co-organizing the event entitled "Understanding the MENA region in 2022 and Beyond”.
Envisioned as part of a series of high-level discussions and roundtables focusing on MENA related topics, this closed-door event is scheduled to take place on September 7th, 2022 at 04:00 p.m. (CET) on Zoom.
Moderated by CIRSD President, H.E. Mr. Vuk Jeremić, the discussion will feature the following speakers:
H.E. Dr. Nezha Alaoui M'hammdi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Ethiopia and Djibouti H.E. Dr. Mohamed Benaïssa, Secretary General of the Assilah Forum Foundation H.E. Mr. Mohammed Loulichki, Senior Fellow, Policy Center for the New South H.E. Mr. Miguel Angel Moratinos, High Representative of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations
The closing remarks will be delivered by PCNS President, Dr. Karim El Aynaoui.
New challenges overlap with longstanding dynamics in the MENA, as the region deals with the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic and moves toward greater economic normalization through diplomatic rapprochement and de-escalations of tensions and conflict resolution.
By providing a forum for discussion about major regional challenges in a broader international context, CIRSD and PCNS aim to capitalize on the collective knowledge and experience of renowned experts from the region and prominent diplomatic figures. This invitation-only roundtable will focus on increasing understanding and responsiveness to changing circumstances in the region, through an interdisciplinary approach and analysis of the main geopolitical and economic trends in the MENA region for 2022 and beyond.
