During their visit to Shanghai, Jeremić and Jovanović met with Chen Dongxiao, President of the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS), and Prof. Li Kaisheng, Senior Fellow and Vice President of SIIS, as well as other members of the institute’s leadership team. Founded in 1960, SIIS is one of China’s premier government-affiliated think tanks dedicated to international studies. This meeting reinforced CIRSD’s longstanding partnership with SIIS and underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing pressing global challenges.
In Hong Kong, Jeremić and Jovanović engaged with the city’s dynamic business community, exploring opportunities for partnerships that align with CIRSD’s mission of sustainable development. Additionally, Jeremić participated in a panel discussion organized by the One Earth Alliance, a collaborative platform uniting family offices, investors, corporations, philanthropists, governments, and academic institutions to accelerate sustainable impact across Asia.
In his remarks at the One Earth Alliance event, Jeremić highlighted the profound challenges of the current global climate, stating: “We are living through a geopolitical recession that has created a severe deficit in international cooperation. In such a fragmented world, fostering dialogue and building sustainable partnerships is more vital than ever.”
Jeremić was also announced as a new member of the Governing Council of the One Earth Alliance, a body comprising distinguished global leaders committed to driving sustainable change. Members of the council include Prince Max von und zu Liechtenstein, Chairman of the private bank LGT; Arun Majumdar, Dean of the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability; Hiromichi Mizuno, Special Advisor to the CEO at MSCI; Johan Rockström, Director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research; and Jeffery Sachs, Director of the Centre for Sustainable Development at Columbia University.
