High-level Discussion on the Middle East at the Anti-Defamation League in New York
The Center for International Relations and Sustainable Development (CIRSD) and the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) co-hosted in New York a high-level Davos-style panel discussion on American foreign policy in the Middle East.

The exclusive event took place in the national headquarters of the ADL in New York and was moderated by CIRSD President Vuk Jeremic.
The discussion was opened by Horizons author and ADL National Director Jonathan Greenblatt, a former senior Obama Administration official, and featured a keynote speech by Ambassador Gerald M. Feierstein, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary in the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Near East Affairs.

The event also served to promote the latest issue of Horizons and featured remarks by five distinguished American foreign policy experts: Michele Dunne, Director of the Middle East Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace; Shai Feldman, Director of the Crown Center for Middle East Studies at Brandeis University and Senior Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs; Horizons author and Editor-at-Large of The American Interest Walter Russell Mead; Stephen Sestanovich, the George Kennan Senior Fellow for Russian and Eurasian Studies at the Council on Foreign Relations; and Ray Takeyh, Senior Fellow for Middle Eastern Studies at the Council on Foreign Relations.
The event, which followed the Chatham House Rules, examined the future direction of American foreign policy in the Middle East. Topics discussed included the Obama Administration’s legacy in the region; the strategic implications of the Iranian nuclear deal; the future course of regional realignments; resolving the region’s ongoing conflicts; Arab demographics, governance challenges, and the extremist threat to peace; and the security of Israel.
During the joint CIRSD-ADL discussion, the latest issue of Horizonswas promoted. The next HorizonsDiscussion will take place in Belgrade on February 11th.
